316 members of the class: 58 percent will go on to two and four-year colleges and universities, 3 percent to technical or trade schools, 35 percent to careers and 4 percent will join the military
47 members of the class are members of the National Vocational Technical Honor Society
82 students received the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship because of their high-ranking performances on the MCAS.
202 seniors, 65% of the class worked at co-op jobs in their fields of study this year.
Students earned dozens of industry certifications including Adobe Certified Associate, Microsoft Excel, Word and Power point, OSHA, Student Electronics Technicians, American Design Drafting Association and ServSafe
Three students were accepted into apprenticeship programs -- two at the Local IBEW 103 (Electricians) and one at the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen
39 Health Occupations students are graduating as Certified Nursing Assistants.
8 Cosmetology students are graduating as state-certified cosmetologists after earning 1,000 salon hours and passing the state test. Five more will take the test next month.
100 students attended the SkillsUSA state competition and 25 students won medals – 15 Gold, 4 Silver and 6 Bronze. The gold medalists will go on to the national SkillsUSA competition in Louisville, KY at the end of June.
45 seniors earned college credits for successfully completing college-level courses while juniors and seniors at Whittier
Business Tech & Marketing students participated in DECA & SkillsUSA competitions.
Our Mock UN Team competed at UMASS Lowell and Northeastern University and received numerous awards including Best Delegates and Best Public Speakers
Our Service Clubs -- Key Club, Multicultural Club and Peer to Peer, donated thousands of hours to help the less fortunate all year long. They collected hundreds of canned food items for area food pantries during the holidays, ran a Winter Coat Drive, a blood drive with the American Red Cross, raised and donated money and hours to the Salvation Army, and hosted a Relay for Life to benefit cancer patients and research
Culinary Arts students hosted the Advisory Board Dinner for 300 business and industry leaders, the Haverhill Kiwanis Luncheon, Rotary Luncheon, Merrimack Valley Superintendent’s Association Luncheon, Essex County Police Chief’s Association luncheon, CAC Fall Sports Banquet.
The Robotics Team “The Maroon Monsoon” won the Gracious Professionalism Award while competing in the New England Regional FIRST competition for their demonstration of discovery, innovation, impact, inclusion, teamwork and fun
Senior drama students led an outstanding production of Curtains in March
Art students designed and built an award-winning Holiday Float for Haverhill’s Annual Santa Parade and the Merrimac Holiday Parade.
