U.N. Students inspired by visit to State House

Whittier students traveled to the State House in Boston to celebrate U.N. Day and participate in a model U.N. simulation hosted by the United Nations Association of Greater Boston. Students attended from several schools in Massachusetts, kicking off Model U.N. events for the school year. While there, they debated the current refugee crisis and formulated solutions to the problem, and Whittier students helped write the resolution that passed.

Prior to the debate, students toured the historic building, and accompanied Representative Sean Garballey from Arlington into the House of Representatives' chamber. He motivated and inspired them, explaining that his participation in Model U.N. as a student led him to the career he has today. He took photos with students at the podium.
