Whittier students claim second place in the Eco-Carpentry Challenge

CONGRATULATIONS to our sophomore carpentry students and their Instructor Mark Whittier for finishing second out of 10 schools in the Eco-Carpentry Challenge.

The statewide competition challenges high school students to recycle by transforming discarded office furniture into useful new products.

From their pile, Whittier students designed and created outdoor lounge chairs, tables, mugs, plates, an ice bucket, yard games and more!

They were celebrated last Thursday night in Boston where they presented their work and mingled with industry professionals.

The students are: Ekaterina Acevedo,Thomas Benedetti, Garrett Girad, Jadiel Gonzalez, Mia Greco, Jenna Keefe,Tristen LaSala, Michael Mateo, Michael McAuliffe, Troy Pender, Yuriy Buttrick, Nolan Caron,William Carpenter, Emmanuel Garcia, Yuris Martinez, Desiree Michaud and Julia Matos.
