Middle Schoolers loved STEM Camp

Thirty-five middle school students spent four days at Whittier over April vacation immersed in science, technology, engineering and math at our first STEM Camp. Their action-packed days were spent building balsa wood airplanes and straw rockets to learn about aerospace engineering; experimenting with solar cookers and egg drops to get acquainted with green engineering; designing pinball and Rube Goldberg machines to understand mechanical engineering; and constructing balsa wood bridges and rollercoasters to learn the concepts of civil engineering.
