The gutting and rebuilding of our Machine Technology shop began 18 months ago with a design from CAD Drafting. Today, students from carpentry, electrical, metal fab and machine technology are busy finishing the $500,000 project. The deadline is closing in as Gov. Charlie Baker will visit on Thursday at 10:30 AM for a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The renovation was made possible after our school won a competitive Workforce Skills Capital Grant, part of an $11.8 million program Gov. Baker put in place to purchase vocational technical equipment and expand skills training programs for growing industries in our state.
All students and staff will gather in the gym to welcome him.
"Gov. Baker clearly supports what we do here," said Superintendent Maureen Lynch. "And we are excited to show our gratitude and Wildcat pride to him and his staff."
