The Culinary Arts and Hospitality Students had a very busy St. Patricks Day week, with two sold-out St. Patrick's Themed lunch buffets on Tuesday and on Thursday! They also had an off-site catering event at the Salisbury Senior Center on Wednesday where a handful of students served corned beef and cabbage to some very festive customers! 🏆Staff Remain Undefeated in Annual Students vs. Staff Basketball Game🏀 The Whittier Tech gym was buzzing with excitement on Tuesday, March 11, as the undefeated staff team took on a determined group of students in the third annual Students vs. Staff Basketball Game, organized by Student Government. In a hard-fought battle, the staff held onto their winning streak, securing a 38-32 victory. Beyond the scoreboard, the game fostered camaraderie, teamwork, and school spirit, bringing students and faculty together in a shared love for competition. The student team was led by Math instructor Chris Valaskatgis, while the staff team was coached by Student Government Advisors Elizabeth Devenney and Dr. Monica Marino, both English instructors. A special thank you to the administration for their continued support of this tradition. Additional thanks to Gym Instructor Ryan Richards for running the clock and scoreboard, Librarian Rich Porcelli for providing music and introductions, and Athletic Director Kevin Bradley for the play-by-play commentary. Building Substitute Steve Szettella also volunteered as the game’s referee. Congratulations to all participants for making this year’s game another exciting chapter in Whittier Tech history!
