Students win best delegate awards in mock UN debate at statehouse

Congratulations to our Model UN students who did an outstanding job representing Whittier at the State House on Friday, October 25.  Special recognition goes to Alanna Stafford and Isabelle Piscitelli who received one of three awards given at the conference. Together they represented the nation of Kenya, and were named Best Delegates in Negotiation.

Students from schools throughout Massachusetts competed in groups representing countries all over the world. Their assignment was to come together to solve world hunger and malnutrition.  One solution was to create a world food bank to assist countries in need. History Teacher Mrs. Hatchell attended the trip along with UN Advisors Mr. Robertson and Ms. Brown.
