Class of 2020 picks up their caps and gowns!

Our 2020 soon-to-be graduates began picking up their graduation boxes today in a well-organized, socially distanced event.

One by one, they pulled into the front lot where they met Principal Laganas and stepped out of their cars —wearing masks — to return their iPads to Mr. Lacerte and Mr. Williams. It was then on to the next booth to pay any class dues or monies owed.

Next was a stop to pick up any items they had left in their lockers which had been bagged for them and to return all their school books to Librarian Mr. Porcelli.

After that, it was clear sailing down to the south lot where they were met by Assistant Principals Mr. Gagne and Ms. Fleming and other staff who delivered their graduation boxes to their car doors with applause. Inside, they found their caps and gowns, diplomas, and yearbooks.

Seniors will continue picking up their boxes next Tuesday and Wednesday according to their last names, and we look forward to celebrating Commencement Exercises safely with the Class of 2020 next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Whittier Field.

(The photo of Mrs. Bucco momentarily without a mask was when she was greeting her son, Oliver.)
