Commencement 2020 is underway!

There were a lot of big smiles tonight as the first third of the Class of 2020 graduated in a personalized ceremony at Whittier Field.

Staff ensured everyone stayed six feet apart as families parked their cars on the baseball field and walked with their seniors to the festive football field. Parents were able to take close-up photos as graduates headed across the turf one-by-one to a flower-flanked podium where they could also been seen on the Jumbotron. Each student’s name was announced by Principal Laganas as The Pomp and Circumstance March played and the senior moved their tassel from right to left indicating they had graduated.

The ceremony will continue Thursday and Friday nights, and two videos created by Library/Media Director Rich Porcelli will be published following the exercises. One video will be released on Saturday with student speeches and photos of students. A second one will be a compilation of the three days of graduation exercises and will be released in mid-June.

Congratulations graduates!
