Class of 2020: Why they are happy they came to Whittier Tech

We are happy we came to Whittier because….

It gave me a lot of job opportunities and prepared me for work. The teachers taught me how to properly handle job and people situations.

I've met some awesome people and I have had some really great teachers.

 I made lots of friends.

Whittier gave me the chance to let my talents show and formed a confident young woman. I had the chance to meet some incredible people who had my back through it all, and I’m so lucky for that.

I got experience in the healthcare field, which is going to help me in the future. I also had experience with multitasking between shop week and class week, which will definitely help me in the future.

I liked the environment and the way we learned, and I liked the teachers and the alternating weeks. I’ve really enjoyed my time here. I just wish we had more dances.

If I didn’t go to Whittier, I wouldn’t have my hairdressing license and I wouldn’t already be looking for a salon job before high school even ends. I am ahead of everyone else my age that went to a public school

Education wise, I got to learn a trade while being a normal high school student. But it was a bummer that we didn't get to have a prom or graduation. Also, I wish our school was less strict and gave us a bit more freedom.

Whittier was a game changer for me. It provided me with opportunities I couldn’t have earned elsewhere and provided me with friends that will last a lifetime. Learning my trade also provided me with a work ethic, and skills that will always stay with me. I couldn’t have imagined a better experience than what I had here.
