Metal Fabrication Students Surprise Cafeteria Staff with Holiday Gifts

Whittier Tech Metal Fabrication students with the Cafeteria Staff showing off their gifts.

Earlier today, Metal Fabrication students presented the Whittier Tech Cafeteria Workers with a small token of their appreciation for everything they do for Whittier students by making little flower boxes in shop. These holiday gifts were given to all 10 cafeteria workers as well as the four current Whittier Tech students who are working in the cafeteria for their cooperative education job. The Whittier Tech Cafeteria staff is led by Food Service Manager Kevin Welch. Cafeteria Workers Tanya Bonfiglioli, Gail Bufagna, Laura Dolce, Michael Donahue, Marie Emery, Paul MacMullin, Elizabeth Shanahan, Beverly Terrazzano, and Grey Wipp were all surprised and extremely grateful for the thoughtfulness of the Metal Fabrication students.

Metal Fabrication Instructor Chris Gerber explains the gifts made by Metal Fab students.

Junior Madison Gosse from Georgetown said, “Metal Fabrication students wanted to show our appreciation for our cafeteria staff. As students, we feel our lunch staff go unrecognized and are underappreciated. As a thank you for feeding us both breakfast and lunch, we decided to fabricate flower boxes as a holiday surprise gift.”

Sophomore Aengus Longtin from Newburyport added, “As a sophomore, I used my acquired skills and knowledge to fabricate flower boxes to show my appreciation towards our cafeteria staff.”
