Whittier Tech Students Attend SkillsUSA Fall State Leadership Conference
Last month, a delegation of Whittier Tech students attended the SkillsUSA Fall State Leadership Conference in Malborough, Massachusetts.
The following students participated in the conference:
Shantal Almonte, a sophomore from Haverhill
Adrianna Alvarez, a sophomore from Haverhill
Grace Barber, a junior from Groveland
Rhuan De Oliveira, a sophomore from Amesbury
Travis Gates, a sophomore from Amesbury
Kelleisha Gilbert, a sophomore from Haverhill
Katreina Green, a sophomore from Haverhill
Samantha Kesten, a junior from Haverhill
Molly McCadden, a junior from Haverhill
Justin Reynoso, a sophomore from Bradford
Alexis Rodis, a sophomore from Haverhill
In addition, senior Nathanial Shramko, from Groveland, attended as a Student Panelist, contributing valuable insights to the discussions, and junior Natalie Delano, from Haverhill was one of the SkillsUSA State Officers who assisted in facilitating the conference. Delano currently serves as the State Historian.
An outstanding achievement for our students was the successful attainment of the Leader Award by ten out of the eleven participants. The Leader Award is a rigorous test that requires students to score 85 or higher, demonstrating their in-depth knowledge of the SkillsUSA Organization. This includes proficiency in the organization's Motto, Creed, Purposes, Pledge, Emblem, and Framework, among other elements. The comprehensive nature of this test makes it a challenging but essential measure of the students' understanding of the SkillsUSA mission and values.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity for students to travel, fostering camaraderie and collaboration as they interacted with students from across the state. The event also served as a platform for the development of Framework Skills, emphasizing the practical application of knowledge and skills gained through the SkillsUSA program.
