CTE Month Day 5, Design and Visual Communications and Medical Assisting

Did you know that this week is also SkillsUSA Week? CTE and SkillsUSA go hand-in-hand. Today, we visit the Design & Visual Communication and Medical Assisting programs to learn what CTE means to them.

One of the Essential Elements of the SkillsUSA Framework that is evident in these two programs comes from the Technical Skills component: Job-Specific Skills. Students in DVC and Medical Assisting identify, develop, and implement unique knowledge and skills required by a specific job. In order to be successful, students in DVC and Medical Assisting need to know their job roles and responsibilities in order to perform their job confidently. These are just some of the skills Whittier students work on daily.
