WT Senior Isis Quinones Passes the American Welding Society's Welder Performance Test

Whittier Tech is pleased to share that Senior Isis Quinones, from Haverhill, has successfully passed the American Welding Society's Welder Performance Test. She accomplished this feat by taking time off of her co-op job and completing the test under the supervision of Certified Welding Inspector Chris Gerber.

Quinones' achievement is noteworthy as passing all three welding tests on the first attempt is a challenging task. Gerber noted that "This is a very difficult test, and passing it on the first attempt is a testament to her welding ability." Quinones’ success highlights her skill and dedication to the craft.

Quinones is currently working for Salem Metals Inc. in Middleton MA, and as of right now, her plan is to stay there after graduation to continue welding. Her certification is an excellent addition to her qualifications.

Quinones expressed her excitement by saying, "I'm very excited to have passed my welder certification test before graduating high school; this will give me an upper hand when applying for higher-level welding positions."

Congratulations Isis Quinones!
