🎨 Kicking off our first Trailblazers in the Trades feature with Whittier Tech’s incredibly talented Cheyenne Siguenza! A senior in DVC, Cheyenne spent weeks creating a stunning canvas painting honoring nine influential Black trailblazers in the trades. 🖌️✨ With her artistic skills and dedication, and guidance from Mr. Murray in art class, her work will be proudly displayed in the cafeteria for all to see. We’re so proud of her talent and hard work! Stay tuned as we continue to spotlight Black Excellence this #BlackHistoryMonth!

Whittier Tech environmental science classes captured video of a male deer scratching its antlers against the bark of a white pine tree back in November. Male deer scratch the bark of trees to leave their scent for female deer to find during mating (rutting) season. Now that we are in the deep winter, male deer will begin shedding their antlers to conserve energy in months where food is harder to find. #EnvironmentalScience #CareerAndTechnicalEducation #TheMoreYouKnow #WeAreWhittierTech

The WT Environmental Club is happy to announce that we are starting a soft plastic drive for Eco-Bricks. Eco-Bricks are plastic bottles packed with used plastic to create building bricks. Please donate any soft plastic (DRY AND CLEAN) to room 3110. Soft plastics are harmful to the environment so by making Eco-Bricks we can keep a lot of trash out of the landfill and stop microplastics from infiltrating the water and ground, both of which are harmful to humans and animals. Soft plastics include chip bags, food wrappers, plastic film, flexible wrapping, candy wrappers, disposable produce bags, and really any plastic that can be scrunched into a "brick."
