Hospitality Students Take Field Trip to See Hotel & Resort in Action

The Hospitality program traveled to the Boston Marriott Long Wharf for a tour on October 12th and to the Cliff House Resort in Cape Neddick, Maine for a tour on October 19th. Students were able to see a busy full-service Marriott hotel in the city as well as a world-famous resort property, in action!

Students were given property tours that included room service, housekeeping, and banquets at the Marriott Long Wharf. Then at the Cliff House, students were able to see the spa, the restaurants, and the luxury guest suites. The students were also given a deep dive into Human Resource Management in the Hospitality Industry. Students learned about professionalism and teamwork and that you need to take care of your employees so that they will take care of the guests! Each property goes above and beyond to care for its guests, paying close attention to every detail! The students were impressed!

Alannah Noone a Junior in Culinary/Hospitality from Salisbury even secured a job at the Cliff House! She will be working there as part of her co-op job.

Whittier’s Hospitality instructors are Nicole Grupposo and Krisztina Perron. A huge thank you goes out to them for coordinating this amazing opportunity for our students.
