On Thursday, December 8, 2023, Mr. Donahue, Jr. and Mr. Snowden visited with the Multicultural Club at their after-school club meeting. They discussed a brief history of the Declaration of Independence, how a right is crafted and created under the Constitution, and how civil rights movements over time have improved our country. “We are not a perfect country, but we are improving with time,” Mr. Donahue remarked. Club member Jeremy Alvarez, a Junior in Electrical from Haverhill, shared that "Thanks to the Constitution, many things have changed over time for the benefit of everyone. In the U.S., people have more liberty, freedom of speech, and freedom to protest, whereas people can be threatened and jailed for protesting in other countries. For example, in my native country of Guatemala, there are restrictions on talking freely about the government. I like having the pocket Constitution to get to know more of my rights as a person in the U.S."

Multicultural Club Advisor Mrs. Susannah DiMauro said, "In the true spirit of education, these History teachers took time out of their day to share with club members about the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, reminding us of our rights under these important, beautiful documents. Their presentation was inspiring for me."

Mr. Donahue Jr. and Mr. Snowden also presented to the Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) Club earlier this Fall.
