Whittier Tech Invites Prospective Students, Families to Nov. 5 Open House

Superintendent Maureen Lynch and Whittier Tech invite eighth-grade students and their families to its annual Open House next month.

WHEN:

Sunday, Nov. 5, 1-4 p.m.

WHERE:

Whittier Tech, 115 Amesbury Line Road, Haverhill

WHAT:

Whittier Tech hosts an Open House each November for prospective students. Whittier Tech serves students from Amesbury, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, Ipswich, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, Rowley, Salisbury, and West Newbury.

Families in the district are welcome to attend Whittier Tech’s Open House, where they may learn more about programs, curriculum and opportunities available to students.

Visitors will tour the facility, meet instructors, view live demonstrations, and learn more about the 23 career pathways in Arts and Communication, Construction, Manufacturing, Service, Technology, and Transportation.

Attendees are encouraged to ask questions.

Also, attendees can learn more about the district’s efforts to build a new school. Whittier Tech is pursuing construction of a new building to best provide a 21st century technical education to students, helping them join the workforce in emerging careers. The current building was opened in 1973, and its last significant renovation was a roof replacement in 2007.

Applications will open on Nov. 1, and be available here. Eighth-graders and their families also may apply at the Open House.

Families who are unable to attend on Nov. 5 may register here for sessions on Nov. 15, Dec. 6, Dec. 13, and Jan. 10, 2024.
