On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, senior Madison Dawkins from Haverhill, signed her letter of intent to join the soccer team for the Fitchburg State University Falcons.

A four-year varsity starter, Dawkins excelled as the goalkeeper leading the team. During her senior year, she recorded nine shutouts. Dawkins has also competed as a member of the Whittier Tech Girls’ Basketball and Softball teams.

Inside the classroom, Dawkins is an Honors student in the CAD/Drafting program and boasts a 4.4 GPA ranked #4 in the Class of 2023 and is a member of the National Technical Honor Society. As a member of the Early College Program, Dawkins has already earned 18 college credits through Whittier’s partnership with Northern Essex Community College. At Fitchburg, she plans to major in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Architecture.

Coach Ryan Richards said, "I am excited for Maddy signing for FSU. I had the pleasure of coaching Maddy and watching her game elevate throughout her high school career. She has always been a hard worker, a fierce competitor, and always put the work in at practice and over the off-season. I look forward to seeing what she will accomplish throughout her college career."

Dawkins had nothing but great things to say about her time as a Wildcat, “I’d like to thank Coach Richards and Coach Lacroix for the last four years. I wouldn’t be where I am as a player or person without them. They would never let me give up on myself no matter what. I also would like to thank my goalkeeper coach, Kayla, for working with me in the off-season to improve my skills. I’d like to thank my teammates for all the memories and for pushing me to be my best. All of you played a special part in my life on and off the field. Thank you to my parents and family for coming to support me at every game home or away and believing in me. I enjoyed the time I got to play on the Whittier Tech soccer team and I can’t wait to play at the next level at Fitchburg. My time at Whittier helped me grow as a player and showed me that you can always improve. The sky is the limit. You can do whatever you want you just need to put in the work. Thank you for the past four years.”

Dawkins is the daughter of Allyson and Douglas Dawkins. Her twin sister, Victoria, has been along for the ride as a teammate and fellow WT graduate of the Class of 2023.
