11th Grade World History Civics Engagement Project Awards
Whittier Tech is proud to announce the Civics Engagement Presentation Award recipients in each section of 11th Grade World History. These awards recognize our students' exceptional efforts and achievements who have demonstrated remarkable dedication, creativity, and passion in their research and advocacy for various civic issues. Some of the topics include pollution, school reform, homelessness, mental health care, Gay/LGBTQIA+ rights, animal testing, and social reform.
The Civics Engagement Presentations are an integral part of the 11th Grade World History curriculum, allowing students to explore and understand the significance of civic participation in shaping societies. Under the guidance of our History teachers, students have delved into a diverse range of topics, highlighting the importance of critical thinking, problem-solving, and active citizenship. Several factors were considered in this process, including the depth and quality of research, the creative solutions proposed, and the students' zeal in advocating for their positions.
